“Meet With Astronaut” Virtual Event

We are happy to announce that Michael E. DeBakey High School for Health Professions in Qatar is hosting its annual “Meet with an Astronaut” event virtually.

The session will be hosted live on the school’s assembly screen, hosting NASA Astronaut David Hilmers.

With this in mind, the daily schedule has been altered for the sessions on Monday, 30th November 2020, and Tuesday, 1st December 2020.

Please find attached the schedule of the day. Please note that students who are studying online will end their day at 12:45 pm.

More about Astronaut:

Dr. David Hilmers is an American physician, engineer, and mathematician. He worked for NASA for 12 years in various positions and logged over 490 hours in space. With five academic degrees, he is the second most formally educated U.S. astronaut.

Dr. Hilmers received his Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics (high honors) from Cornell College. He then went on to complete his Masters of Science degree in electrical engineering (with distinction), as well as an electrical engineering degree from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School.

Dr. Hilmers received a Doctor of Medicine degree from Baylor College of Medicine with honors and a Masters of science degree in Public Health from the UTHealth School of Public Health at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.
